Of course it had no impact on careers. Very few jobs back then required an education. Many jobs didn't even require reading.

- Robotbeat 5y agoAll of those (POSSIBLY not the last) require reading. Rules. Numbers. Need to be licensed to be a barber. And in every instance, if you’re operating legally (etc) you need to read contracts, etc, to make sure you’re not getting shafted. Also need to read to collect and file taxes. Outsourcing reading is sometimes possible, but it will usually cost you a lot more and will make it much easier to be exploited.
