good point!!
I am aware that the market has priced in any potential rate hikes but seeing what is going on with the ECB makes me very nervous, not to mention what England just did and it appears there is going to be an inverted yield curve with US treasuries rearing up this week.
Normally I would would lay off any risk in precious metals or other commodities but with what I can only say is very strange action or worse market manipulation for such historical "risk off" places to put my money(Oil/Energy may have been an option last month but I fear the speculators have spoiled that now and the window of opportunity has closed), I am at a loss other than cash as to where to protect my interests.
I feel that cash or fiat is nothing more than a guaranteed loss with all the risk but there are no realistic options other than holding that at this time. A guaranteed loss of 9% is better than 25% or more especially considering the profits seen in the last few years..it almost seems like a tax on revenue TBH( Pay it to the government or the market it doesn't matter).
Some would say BTC might be the answer but I just don't see it. I have seen the correlation between BTC and the Nasdaq in the charts and truth be told I am currently betting against it with some BITI.TO but if and when it hits 6K or below the SP500 I will definitely reconsider.
I feel the only place an analytical person such as myself can find refuge is in extrapolating reason from the charts and history, and although that is considered nothing more than astrology for finance by some...I feel it is the best horse to bet on given these uncertain times of fear, FOMO and manipulation all at the same time.
All which has resulted from the US administrations of both Trump and Biden juicing the markets so much over the last few years. Too much financial cocaine IMHO!!! and the best thing to do when cocaine shows up at a party is hide your cash!!, especially when it is running low!!
- naveen99 5y agoScared money doesn’t make money. Though a good place for scared money is in treasuries and index funds. Labor is king in a full employment environment. Invest in your own labor. If you are over invested in your labor, relax a little. When you feel bored with safety, add some risk ! Also, look at the bright side. Work from home has unexpectedly boosted productivity and removed the dead weight of commute. Technological progress and globalization also March on fighting inflation. all else being equal bet on things you have conviction in.
