Last I checked it wasn't possible to switch the default search engine on Android phones (whether it was set to Google or otherwise). Is this still the case? I couldn't find anything conclusive in my searching.
- Kadrith 15y agoFrom what I understand that is an issue with the Telcom, not with Google.
- magicalist 15y agoI don't see an option for it, but you can replace the entire home screen app (though maybe not if your carrier has locked it?), which could accomplish the same thing if there was a good bing-based home screen out there.
- nextparadigms 15y agoI'm not sure what you mean. You can't try a new widget instead of the Google Search one? Or are you saying that widget should allow you to switch to Bing?
- myko 15y agoI think generally this is a very simple thing to do, by installing a widget for another search engine for instance. Also once you install Chrome on the desktop you get a choice of Google, Bing, or Yahoo as your default.
