Why you hate tasks that you love, when they become your day job
- scarface74 5y agoAnecdote: I use to be a part time fitness instructor. At first I just did it once or twice a week and I loved it. Then I started teaching 15 classes a week as supplemental income and I hated it. I completely quit a decade ago right after getting married and didn’t look back. My wife started teaching a little over six years ago. I always warned her not to think of it as a job or she won’t enjoy it anymore. Then post Covid and my getting a new better paying job, I “retired her” from her job working for the school system. She started an online fitness “business”, she has about 40-50 people signed up and she was thinking about charging. I suggested she just keeps doing it for free because her initial motivation was always just to help people. Once she starts charging, it increases her obligations and it won’t be fun for her anymore. People do Cash App her.
