Poly Styrene Broke the Mold

• issa 5y ago
Love when punk stuff shows up on HN. I would imagine a small minority of readers are, or were, into punk music. But the DIY punk music scene has a lot in common with the startup scene. I will always try to hire people with that background whenever possible. If you could book your own tour, release your own records, or publish a fanzine, you can probably ship product.

Ha, she predates Dead Kennedys and Henley by quite a bit. I did know about her but not _that_.

The Trash Theory YouTube channel had a good video about Poly Styrene and X-Ray Spex as part of their New British Canon series - https://youtu.be/xA-rRijxf70 https://youtu.be/xA-rRijxf70

Thanks for the advice. I was around at the time. I don't need some self-hating racist journalist explain it all to me.
