You think unvaccinated are doing this just to make Democrats look bad? That seems like a stretch to me. I think they are doing it because the previous administration completely botched their messaging around the virus - first saying masks had no effect (the biggest botch IMO) when what they really meant was "we have a shortage of masks, hospital staff need them, we don't want everyone hoarding them, so we're going to lie and tell you they aren't necessary". There were so many outright lies, combined with half-truths and conjecture that turned out to be wrong, that I think a certain group of people came to mistrust everything they were being told, and now they've just dug their heels in.
