This seems like a really weird narrative. Why would people who are protesting vaccine mandates be against healthcare workers? They aren't the ones keeping the mandate in place. There's a tenuous connection with them being the ones to administer a vaccine if someone decides to get vaccinated but it's not like attacking a healthcare worker is going to accomplish anything. A lot of the people engaging in this protest have already been vaccinated, what's their beef with healthcare? Honestly, this just seems like spin that's aimed at creating two opposing groups.

- _-david-_ 5y agoYou do realize something like 90% of truckers have been vaccinated? It doesn't seem like they think anyone involved with the vaccine are evil...
- sudosysgen 5y agoThat 90% of truckers aren't the ones in the convoy. Many of them are quite embarrassed at it.
- _-david-_ 5y agoSource?
- sudosysgen 5y agoWhat, precisely, do you want proof of? Do you want a census of the people in the convoy by vaccination status?
- _-david-_ 5y agoThat is exactly what I want. You made the claim that the 90% is not part of the convoy. I want to know where you are getting that information from.
- throwaway4aday 5y agoDo you live in Ottawa? I'm asking because you appear to be speaking as though you have some special insight into this. If so, perhaps sharing some video of such incidents would be helpful.
- version_five 5y agoFrom what I've seen it's just spin. They (the CBC et al) have taken the worst examples, real, imagined, or completely out of context, and acted like this is what the protest is all about. The war memorial is a good example. This is something that's at the site of the protest because it's in downtown ottawa. Pretending it's being "disrespected" is some nonsense you could level at any group protesting downtown. In this case its particularly silly because the demographic that is protesting is overall very supportive or Canada's military, and is literally there protesting for freedom.
- graublau 5y agoYeah, I think post Trump 2016, CBC took a very activist-oriented approach which hemorrhaged their cultural trust. They got pushback and then dug in further. There’s no self reflection at all.
