I still build out prototypes using www.meteor.com
Firebase is good for that too
- eyelidlessness 5y agoI don’t want to poopoo anyone offering suggestions that they have found helpful for themselves. That said, I want to offer a word of caution: there is some prototyping appeal in Meteor for sure, but it can also be a trap. It does a lot of unconventional stuff that isn’t just unidiomatic in the JS ecosystem, but also full of magic that might obscure what’s actually being built. Eg magic globals instead of imports, which are incredibly hard to find. And fibers which make async look sync. And if you want to go from prototype to a serious project, you’ll either be stuck in Meteor or throwing the whole thing away (not necessarily a bad thing, but like I said: caution).
