It's as if the designers just went with the very first idea they had, without any reflection on its pros and cons. How does this kind of thing happen? How did they not do even the smallest bit of research into all the possible options and successful examples that are out there? It's so frustrating how short-sighted and incompetent these efforts tend to be.
- alamortsubite 5y agoI share your frustration but it's unfair to look at it this way. If you attend some city planning meetings you'll see how entrenched and irrational the opposition is to any cycling infrastructure that could be perceived as affecting car traffic or parking. It's like pulling teeth, and I agree it's a tricky compromise, but we should consider any ground gained a success.
