- bradknowles 5y agoWhen did the pandemic start? How long did the pandemic run under the previous administration? How long has it run under the current administration? What are the respective number of deaths per day of administration? I think the math here should be pretty simple, and demonstrative.
- mercy_dude 5y agoPandemic started in roughly Feb 2020, so that’s about 11 months of previous administration with about 396k deaths. And the pandemic is running about 13 months through the course of current administration with 504k death. Yes the math is pretty simple.
- bradknowles 5y agoHow much international travel was there during the two administrations? We know that Delta was much more infectious than any other variant to date, and now Omicron is much more infectious than Delta. What are the impacts of the different strains on the death rates?
- prirun 5y agoThe virus doesn't care who is in office or what their political agenda is. Its mutations are not based on right, left, red, or blue. Its disheartening that so many people want to politicize things that are completely unrelated to politics.
- jfengel 5y agoIt cares very much who is vaccinated, and wears protective equipment, and who is not. And there is a big political correlation. I never would have thought that people were so willing to literally kill themselves to make the current administration look bad, but perhaps I shouldn't have been.
- prirun 5y agoYou think unvaccinated are doing this just to make Democrats look bad? That seems like a stretch to me. I think they are doing it because the previous administration completely botched their messaging around the virus - first saying masks had no effect (the biggest botch IMO) when what they really meant was "we have a shortage of masks, hospital staff need them, we don't want everyone hoarding them, so we're going to lie and tell you they aren't necessary". There were so many outright lies, combined with half-truths and conjecture that turned out to be wrong, that I think a certain group of people came to mistrust everything they were being told, and now they've just dug their heels in.
