I was expecting to read about a system that pumps air into an underwater dome. Inflating an underwater bladder with seawater is better in several ways: - We can make bladders out of materials that are renewable and biodegradable. - Adding a bladder to an existing wind tower should be quick, cheap, and easy. Removing it should be even easier. - The bladder has limited impact on the environment. It shouldn't required pouring concrete or sinking pylons into the ocean floor. It can be tethered to the wind tower. - When a boat collides with a bladder, both the boat and bladder will probably be unharmed. Some downsides: - The pump/generator must handle seawater, which is very corrosive. - A cyber-attack could over-inflate the bladders, bursting them. Perhaps they could have a physical safety valve?
