HN is definitely not SV only, but I often observe discussions where folks involved write something country-specific, do not state where they live, and assume implicitly everyone in discussion lives in the same country, they understand the context, and the way things work in their country is the only possible way.
- matheusmoreira 5y agoI love it when people do that because almost always someone else will post a counter example that disproves those assumptions. Learned a lot of facts about other countries here because of this and I try to provide examples from my own country as well whenever possible.
- 1_player 5y agoThat's usually Americans, expecting everybody else to be American as well or they should know how the US works if they don't.
