- jevoten 5y agoI'm not sure I understand. Chromebooks require a special cable to access certain developer features?
- bubblethink 5y agoYes, you need this to put the recent ones in developer mode. Older ones had a physical screw.
- craftkiller 5y agoFor the pixelbook you still had the option to disassemble your laptop and disconnect the battery instead of using the special cable, but that involved prying large and fragile rubber sheets off the bottom of your laptop. I did that to my pixelbook before I learned about this cable and it worked (in addition to leaving my pixelbook permanently disfigured because Google does not offer any replacement parts at all to anyone anywhere). I don't know if the battery-based option is still available for newer chromebooks.
