Why do you want the countries visa holders come from to suffer so much? The United States doesn't have a moral right to suck up all of the world's intellectual talent. Let other nations have a shot at building intellectual capital.

This is a disingenuous frame on two counts: (1) Wanting the US to succeed does not mean that one wants other nations to suffer. Success is not zero-sum. (2) The United States doesn't suck up intellectual talent. Individuals apply for visas and travel here willingly, often at great expense. Providing opportunities to those with talent and ambition is absolutely moral.
