New catalysts steer hydrogen fuel cells into mainstream
- pfdietz 5y agoThe article is about a cheaper oxygen reduction catalyst for alkaline fuel cells. A problem with alkaline fuel cells is that if you use them with air, they absorb CO2 and eventually clog up with precipitated carbonates. So they need a way to scrub the CO2 from the incoming air before it hits the stack. This adds complexity and possibly another stream of consumable and waste materials.
