Hello.
I don't understand what's special about. There are sites like codewars and YouTube has quite a few long videos on your question.
Without wanting to ram you from the side or belower you, but, at first you need to practice how to use the internet as your resource of knowledge. For that, an advice from a truly wise man (me):
It's easier to ask others at first than to overcome one self and just google the answers by oneself. The latter one is needed for competition too as there is no one to ask - their competing against you xD
Edit:
Oh, I misread "from non technical background".. ok .. then, your problem is not for competitive python, but at first python by itself.. right?
1. Try to get the basics first. What's an Integer.. float.. how conditions are set.. what's a loop.. these are basic for all programming languages.
2. Having understood that, you can start with how does python handle this. Are there specialities?
3. Then, you need to start practicing. You need an aim. Something you need anyway ... Like storing something in database or doing some replacement for some Excel-Sheets.. while you doing it, you learn to python.
4. When your skills are as far as "dont need google to print out hello world 96x within a conditional for loop that is been controlled by a while loop where the exit condition is set within the inner loop", you try to optimize the run time with other approaches .. may be a list comprehension? ?
5. When you came this far, you start with codewars. Do it under time pressure..
And, maybe asking YouTube first is a good idea...
Cheers
