I only joined Prime for the free two-day shipping. While Amazon halted that during the pandemic, they have claimed that such restrictions have passed. Two-day service still has not been restored for me; my purchases usually take a week to arrive. From what I can tell, this seems to have been intentional on their part for rural addresses. Notably, their competitors have no problem getting parcels to us in a timely manner. So for over a year, they have not been delivering the principle benefit that they promised to me when I signed up. Now, they have the gall to ask me to pay more. What phenomenal hubris. Couple this cash grab with their diminishing ability to hire and retain top engineering talent, and I think that it's time for me to get off their ride. Goodbye, Amazon.
