Hobo Hero – a game about being a hobo
- atum47 5y agoHi everyone, I've been working on this game for a while now and I've been trying to gather an "audience" for it. I'm considering releasing an alpha so I can get some input from people. Please feel free to tell me what you think about it
- meristohm 5y agoMy feeling from watching a few of the videos and remembering an article I read on Rock Paper Shotgun (I think? I’m on mobile and reluctant to search) about homelessness representation in videogames is that difficult subjects embedded within a greater context may be more effective at helping the player learn and grow. In Disco Elysium I’m on the verge of not paying for my room, in which case I’ll be homeless (my avatar, but it’s me playing, and I try to role-play for perspective-taking). I’ve avoided playing recently, maybe out of fear of what will happen? (And Valheim is out-competing DE for my time, in part because I’m under some stress and Valheim is a relaxing escape that doesn’t push me to learn and grow). All that said, I’m only me, and Hobo Hero may well resonate with many others.
