Ask HN: Are We Entering a Recession?
- rbanffy 5y agoIt certainly feels like the contraction/expansion cycles of capitalism are accelerating, so, if we time the question appropriately, the answer will be yes. At some point, I'd assume the frequency will be so high socio-economic systems won't be able to respond and it'll look like a steady state.

We're also running out of "freebies" as sources for new revenue. You can only legalize and bring under the capitalist umbrella things like gambling and marijuana once. Growth mentality isn't sustainable, by definition. Historically it is a lot like what happened when the New World was "discovered" by the west. We're finding little new worlds all over thanks to past policies, but we're running out.
- rvz 5y agoYes. We are more closer to a recession.
