I have good news for you. Male/female/other, once you pass 40 they will mostly stop asking. (I am assuming you are under 40 because people are still asking) So you have to ask yourself the question that really matters. The one you're hoping you know the permanent answer to: do you want them to stop asking? The pandemic meant that really only one person has asked me that question in two years. And the reality is that as I bear down on 50, the actual answer is mostly irrelevant. The choice gets taken out of your hands eventually.
