I wanted to post the same thing, so was looking for a top comment addressing it and glad to have found it. It's weird how many people, even on HN, do not get this distinction. Math gets thrown in with all the sciences but it itself is not a science - it doesn't have experiments, it doesn't follow the scientific method. Mathematics cannot have a replication crisis because there is nothing to replicate. In math correctness is tested not by redoing something but by double-checking the original work for mistakes.
