I guess the issue is that one of the bigger reasons for not having all these settings is that it makes it more complicated for not only the users but the developers (eg more conditions in which a bug can appear, you know what I mean). Having to add search on top of that means you not only need to maintain all the features, but another feature (search) to manage the features. Not saying its a bad idea, I just don't think it'd fly with some of the anti-settings camp
