Rotterdam bridge taken apart to let through Jeff Bezos pleasure yacht
- Shadonototra 5y agohe should take apart his yacht the fact that the city agreed to take apart the bridge and spend tax payer money to do it is just another proof of how corrupt the EU is it is very sad to read
- Someone 5y agoFTA: Oceano and Bezos will reimburse the costs
- Shadonototra 5y agoyeah he got the money, he can take apart his yatch then instead of wasting people's time but who am i to complain when there are plenty of people ok with such behavior..
- masonic 5y agoDirect costs to government, maybe, but no compensation for the effects on locals and commerce of the downtime.
- Someone 5y agoFTA: “In 1993, the bridge lost its function as a river crossing for train traffic between Breda and Rotterdam due to the arrival of the Willemspoort tunnel.” It’s an unused bridge, left as an iconic monument. And no, blocking the waterway for a week or so won’t affect locals, either. Most shipping passes at the other side of the island.

- burmer 5y agoI dunno. The boat is being built behind the bridge by a local company. I'd be pissed if it was just Bezos sailing through for fun.
