By far the best action movie of the last decade "Mad Max: Fury Road" looks so great because most of special effects are practical, and only enhanced with CGI.

I think that while FR had a lot of practical effects, to call the CGI only enhancements does it a disservice. CGI was used in almost every single scene and shot.

Of course it was. But it was to enhance visuals that were previously filmed with real actors, cars and stuntmen - that's why it looks so real.

Fury Road is a bizarre choice to try to make this argument. It is soaked with CG from start to finish, including CG cars, CG head replacements, CG body parts, completely CG shots, CG weather, CG sets, CG crowds, CG ground, sky replacements, CG environments, CG set extensions, green screen stunts and pretty much everything else you can think of. It is wall to wall computer effects. This is like someone saying they don't like sugar or carbonation, so they only drink coke. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAGn3NCKE0g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAGn3NCKE0g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vB3tdMDRQBc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vB3tdMDRQBc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Vp4xeutqZ4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Vp4xeutqZ4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vbsk4x4wv24 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vbsk4x4wv24 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rd3fqGaEBTI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rd3fqGaEBTI

Have you read the post we're discussing? That weightlessness part? Of course, Fury Road is a modern movie, and of course it absolutely does take advantage of modern special effects technology. However, nothing in Fury Road feels weightless (maybe except flying cars in the storm), because the core objects we see are shot in an old school way, with stuntmen and practical effects.
