Honestly my response most of these days to learning of a vulnerability in my hardware is "hell yeah, an avenue for me to be in control of what I own". Exciting stuff, I'm making a note never to upgrade if I have an effected UEFI. If I own it I should have root on every chip and anything less is an insult.
