The biggest problem I have with CGI is that the speed of motion does not match what is physically possible - especially in superhero movies. It's like the motion you get when watching "Family Guy" stunts.
One interesting comparison, I would like to read about, would be between "Blade Runner" and "Blade Runner 2049". The original used models and moved cameras around the models for effect, whereas the sequel, I'm sure, used CGI but to good effect. I'm a fan of both movies.
