I mean, sure when you frame it like that it sounds insane, but most cars these days have GPS that can look up the speed limit, so it would be relatively easy for modern cars to limit cruise control to refuse to allow speeding. Do you think every major car manufacturer is ignoring engineering safety standards and behaving recklessly and irresponsibly by implementing a driver assist feature (cruise control) that behaves illegally when the user asks it to?
