- bradknowles 5y agoThe problem with the argument against sideloading is that we have historical evidence of precisely the sort of stuff Apple says will happen. There are multiple cases of people using jailbroken phones that got tricked into installing malware. Hell, it happens today with Mobile Device Manager certificates. If they can trick a user into installing an MDM certificate from a bogus source, then the bogus source now has complete control over the device. The Apple App Store isn’t perfect, lots of bad stuff gets through. But they also weed out many orders of magnitude more bad stuff that you and I never hear about.
