- avrionov 5y agoThe market will be challenging because the big cloud players offer their version, but recently there were a few successful database companies: - MongoDB - Snowflake - Databricks These 3 are probably the biggest, but there are few others which are promising: Cockroach Labs, Materialize, PlanetScale, Yugabyte.
- ashvardanian 5y agothey are doing OK, but much worse than the private Snowflake, in terms of multiples and growth rate. FOSS is too easy to replicate, so Mongo is most likely earning a lot less than AWS and other cloud vendors from their forks of Mongo.
