Is Interstellar Asteroid 'Oumuamua a Spaceship? A Probe Could Find Out
- terran57 5y agoI would hope that this would get funded. Even if it just turns out to be a boring ole space rock, it'd be a great technology demonstrator.
- simonblack 5y agoBy the time the probe gets off the ground and begins a long stern chase of the interstellar object, many decades will have passed by when (if!!) the probe ever catches up with Oumuamua. And how long will it take at lightspeed for the data to reach Earth from way out there? By then the major space exploration nation in the world could well be Indonesesia. And who knows if the space nation then would even be interested in capturing data from a probe nearly a century old.
