- kmeisthax 5y agoLotnet is fundamentally a poison pill agreement against members selling their patents to non-practicing entities. It only ever makes sense to join such an agreement if you are a net implementer of patents and don't anticipate needing to exit the industry any time soon. For a company like Blackberry, who hasn't designed a phone in years and coasted entirely on licensing and production deals with TCL, it makes zero sense to do this. If you own a lot of phone patents but aren't making any phones, you effectively already are a patent troll.
