That is true for easily testable truths. But since we are social animals and we abide by social rules (such as wearing masks) then we care how many "Likes" an idea has.
Humans are part of the universe and they have killed people for what they believe is true in the past and they will continue doing so in the future. Try saying earth is not the center of the universe 500 years ago, especially if you have evidence.
All it takes is an emergency and even an expert becomes an average person: we go back to 'survival mode' on fear, that is human nature. And I believe fear to be one of the most abused drugs of this time.
Even testable truths sometimes are not testable because of time constraints. And we humans have to have faith things are true, which not everyone is used to doing, especially non-religious.
So although truth is very abstract for the universe it is very relative for us humans. And this relativity might get us killed.
- usrbinbash 5y ago> That is true for easily testable truths. It is true for everything in existence. It doesn't matter how complicated something is, or how difficult it is for humans to grasp: There is a single reality, and an explanation or assumption that does not explain it is either incomplete, approximative, or plain wrong.
