I think requiring a starter comment for submissions would be helpful and up the quality of submissions. Not sure if HN has ever tried that?

- teh_klev 5y agoI don't think requiring but at least allow the option to explain why you posted the link. I sometimes do that with a first comment just in case it's not obvious, and maybe that's enough.
