OpenDyslexic is a TERRIBLE font for helping dyslexia, for how unconventional and distracting it is. I personally use Heinemann Special (but it’s not free), and sometimes Atkinson Hyperlegible.

It feels like it'd probably be nice to do more studies to explore which fonts are actually more or less helpful. I found this, but it only compares OpenDyslexic with some of the regular fonts: http://dyslexiahelp.umich.edu/sites/default/files/good_fonts_for_dyslexia_study.pdf http://dyslexiahelp.umich.edu/sites/default/files/good_fonts... For what it's worth, it seems like it's helping at least slightly.
