The next generation of terminal ergonomics: autocomplete
- BenjiWiebe 5y agoI suppose tab autocomplete works in macos too? Or is the shell not that bash-like?
- maxwell86 5y agoAuto complete has worked for everyone that wanted it enough to invest 10 seconds to Google it and copy one line into their confit file for at least the past 20+ years. This just seems to show auto complete with an annoying popup instead of blending it into the terminal.
- The_rationalist 5y agoWhat? You cannot show multiple autocomplete results without this
- maxwell86 5y agoI do it every day via fzf on the terminal. That's arguably much better than this because it has full fuzzy searching functionality.

- LanternLight83 5y agoYeah, Mac's use ZSH as their default shell, which IIRC is practically a super-set of Bash.
- The_rationalist 5y agoKinda cringe that most distros still default to bash
- dataangel 5y agosays it uses the accessibility APIs but it must be like regex matching on your PS1 or something to try and figure out what your command is?
