- csomar 5y agoIndia is derived from "Hindu". It rhymes and in some languages, it is the same.
- chupchap 5y agoIndia is derived from the river Indus. As in the land around and beyond the Indus. Hindus came later as a way to describe the people and religion of the people in the region. Now it refers to the religion alone and not the people.
