Regexes Are Cool and Good
- pipeline_peak 5y agoRegex doesn’t tell you why something doesn’t meet a pattern, unlike a parser which follows states of validation
- BenjiWiebe 5y agoI agree wrt interactive use. I wrote a little tool that lets me search the parts inventory (in proprietary software) at my job (mechanic shop) with regex. It is a tremendous help to me, especially since some manufacturers have somewhat structured part numbers which are a good fit for regex.
