The result has been widely reported, and avoidable, economic famine and loss of life savings, as well as a mildly increased, but ineffective, pressure on the Houthi administration. The effort to ever more closely approximate the older notes is going to continue for this callous reason, more so than the South's purchasing power reason given, which would only make sense in the presence of large trade flows with the North anyway.
