How Homeowners defeated Zillow’s AI, which led to Zillow Offers’ demise
- llampx 5y agoI would be surprised if the boffins at Zillow didn't consider that in such a market, price discovery is inherently adversarial. Their gain is someone else's loss, and their loss is someone else's gain. In this case the latter scenario played out. Also, with their big data advantage could they not have seen that the entire market was cooling down? Seems they would have the advantage to see market trends before any layperson.

- salawat 5y agoAgain, another reason why people should realize that privacy is power, and everyone is out to leverage every possible way of vacuuming up information to tilt information asymmetry in their favor. Beware folks. The eager eyes outnumber the politely interested by orders pf magnitude.
