This feels like something that would be illegal if say, a gas station had a deal to give better gas prices to Toyota owners.
- joenathanone 5y agoMy old S has free supercharging for life, the cost is subsidized in the price of the vehicle.
- cmer 5y agoIf Toyota had their own gas stations, I'm pretty sure they could offer a discount to their customers. Why not?
- speedgoose 5y agoIf gas station were invented today, each company would require a monthly subscription.
- atwebb 5y agoGas stations already do this, they offer deals to certain credit cards, grocery chains, or even if you buy a car wash.
- ocdtrekkie 5y agoThere's a bit of a difference between a promotion of "buy this, get a discount on this" on a small transactional item like a car wash. The company with the most electric vehicles giving special pricing at the most electric car charging stations moves into tying territory very quickly.
- ff317 5y agoYeah but it wouldn't be illegal if the rationale was that they had priced some gas discounts into the Toyota purchase price as part of the deal.
