Why aren't insurance companies enforcing the equivalent of UL listing for human factor engineering in cars?
Cars will not be self-driving for a number of years, so trying to evolve the UX/UI before that happens is setting up for disasters.
I guess it will take what all safety laws do, people have accidents and getting injured or dying because of the flaws. And inevitable lawsuits and more intense regulation than would have applied in the first place.
- rsynnott 5y agoThey probably will at some point. This sort of thing is reactive, and the trend of putting dreadful touch UIs in cars is largely pretty new.
