I’m not going to defend any of the design choices, but you know what’s dangerous? Operating a 2000kg machine at high velocity without having RTFM. Edit: I'm also not exclusively blaming the author, I think when controls change Tesla should have a responsibility for retraining the vehicle operator. Obviously a painful user experience, but at least it would be a disincentive to move buttons around for no reason.
