Hard agree. One of the worst gambles to make is ‘are folk going to be chill with they/them pronouns’ vs. ‘if I don’t say now, folk are never going to change later’. That’s not going away any time soon. Making the choice mandatory in a thirty person meeting is hell. Plus? Not gonna lie, if I don’t see you regularly and you fuck up my pronouns, I’d rather just get shit done than have another pronouns discussion.
