Why is it such a serious mistake to attempt to collect data? I don't understand all the hate for a plausible hypothesis. He is not putting his fingers in his ears and yelling there are UFOs over and over, he is starting a project to collect data for a plausible hypothesis.
- wumpus 5y agoMost expensive, shared instruments give out observing time according to a scientifically-evaluated proposal. He's starting a project by raising money from wealthy UFO believers.
- bostonsre 5y agoMakes sense and sounds logical to me. Hopefully he sticks to his guns and doesn't allow the sources of the funding taint data collection or conclusions from data collection.
- wumpus 5y agoWell, given all the bridges he's burned at work -- I work there, btw -- it'll be interesting if he can successfully avoid being tainted.
