I recommend finding a local church. I didn't grow up going to church but I started going as a young adult. I met my wife and nearly all my closest friends there. I still go 30 years later. I love my church community. It has wonderful people, weird people, intelligent people, mentally disabled people, rich people, poor people, programmers, bin men and at least a dozen people I call close friends.
