If it's smart, it's vulnerable. Many IOT devices are very chatty and phone home. Voice recordings can even be pulled from Alexa with the right tools. And people sometimes don't even change the default password for their devices, meaning anyone can login and see when their house is empty and rob them.
- Mrirazak1 5y agoPrivacy and security is your concern. It is a big issue and I don’t think matter will solve this as more data can be shared between companies like Google and Amazon.
- moooo99 5y agoSince most matter devices seem to primarily work with Thread, I have high hopes that it will somewhat improve the situation. With the devices not being connected directly to WiFi, I would assume that they can’t be as chatty as they are nowadays.
