Yeah, I understand. But, so far (about 3 years), they've been really good. I also, back up any important emails. The rest, I can lose and not cry. Edit: Purelymail might be interesting if they had calendar syncing. Maybe when they've grown a bit more.

Purelymail has calendar syncing using CalDAV.

Well I've had my free gsuite account for almost 15 years so you still have some time before you get to Google levels of screwed over.
