That looks really interesting. Is there a translation anywhere?
> here's a comic book tells what komputerom and what they eat, and I finally realized that in a fairy tale, called the computer, I get in this life is not destined.
I couldn't quite understand this line. Do they mean that they understood after reading this that they could program computers? Like it was their first exposure to programming, or is there some other meaning?
- pvg 5y agoIt's hard to tell since that English bit at the top is badly mangled machine translation - it couldn't figure out the inflected form of 'computer', translated 'machine' as 'car' and who knows what else. It doesn't say (as far as I can reverse-mangle) anything particularly interesting.
- VTimofeenko 5y agoSome idioms were lost in translation, here is a perhaps a bit more literary version > This was a comic book that described what the compooters[1] are and what to do with them, and I finally realized that I could never get to the fairy land called "minframe" [2] in this life. [1]: sic, deliberate misspelling [2]: I could not find a better English translation for the original word "ЭВМ". The acronym stands for " electronic computation machine" which technically just means "computer", but in the sense of "computer occupying a whole room that feeds on punch cards and interns"
- thriftwy 5y agoPersonal computer is ПЭВМ so there's no such connotation. The book I didn't really like, I think it was too cheesy, but then again I already had a PC at this point.
