Anyone know the real reasons why this took such a long time? If it wasn't priority why?
- waynecochran 5y agoThere must have been breakage in some code when ran w Python 3. Apple is usually the quickest to deprecate things…
- nexuist 5y agoApparently some Automator scripts and a preinstalled command line utility named "xattr": https://apple.stackexchange.com/a/362783/364414 https://apple.stackexchange.com/a/362783/364414 EDIT: According to one of the commenters xattr is now a binary instead of a Python script, so that's probably the real reason why they got rid of 2.7 now!
- buzzwords 5y agoBut xattr is opensource, Apple didnt want to invest some engineering time and effort to upgrade those packages?
