Two learnings about the note-taking market and why it's just getting started
1. From a user perspective: for most people, it's still a huge pain to organize everyday's flood of information. A good indicator is the huge amount of very popular "how-to-x" videos on YouTube.
2. A small group of people has very elaborate setups. They often use multiple tools, code plugins, or self-made solutions and after many iterations find their system. They often end up with amazing workflows and probably amazing outcomes.
In short, the potential is huge but most users don't reach it. It’s a pain for them because they struggle while they see others magically succeeding (on YouTube, Twitter, ...).
- steffenbleher 5y agoWe are currently building capacities.io, a note-taking tool that’s trying to solve this problem. Think of Notion but made for building a personal knowledge base. It’s built on a graph database, you define entities that can be connected and organized in various ways. You can sign up for free. Also, feel free to reach out, would love to hear from you (Twitter: @steffenBle).
